Playful Pentagons and Hexagons: The Modular Quartz Armchair / CTROL ZAK and Davide Barzaghi

Quartz is modular piece of furniture, a collaboration project between CTROL ZAK and Davide Barzaghi.

With an interesting geometrical shape, this armchair was designed to pamper and offer you the most amazing relaxing experience. Quite edgy and unique, the furniture item looks a little bit surprising and rigid.

It combines playful pieces of natural foam, that can be removed with ease and used as individual seatings. The armchair’s structure is very simple, all made of solid beech wood.

“Quartz is a system that couples two-dimensional pentagonal and hexagonal wooden structures, which develop in three dimensions following natural crystalloid formations. The geometric volumes are covered with ecological fabrics in mixed colour variations producing an end result that resembles more a wild microhabitat than an armchair.
