La Trobe University Institute for Molecular Science / Lyons Architects

La Trobe University in Melbourne gets a makeover with the delivery of a new science building by Lyons Architects.

The La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS) was created by the Australia-based firm and is the latest innovative campus addition in a long line of projects for schools across the country.

Both the facade and interior of the LIMS echo principles of molecular science, integrating cell shapes into the construction.

Using blue, red, brushed metal and wood as the main elements of the building, natural light is given license to bounce about freely.
