In our case, these archetypes are ideal Table and Storage system. The basis of this approach was the combination of ways and methods found and tested in one of the architect`s public building concept design.
© Obviously the result we have got could not be considered as a furniture or interior element exactly, neither functionally nor ergonomically.
© But could only be treated as our outlook on them as if through architectural magnifying glass.
© One of the major intentions in this work was to find a scale balance and revealing hidden tectonic mechanism within such proto-objects. In fact it is not a furniture, but quasi-furniture.
©
Using biological terms, both Table and Storage have a common genome
(in our case - the principle/method), which describes their tectonic phenotype.
©
The Storage is a vertical combination of four identical modular units, each of them is rotated 180 degrees relative to the previous one in a horizontal plane. The application of this method in other similar concepts by TOTEMENT \ PAPER allows to "grow" the object not only in the vertical, but in all directions, filling all available space, using one three-dimensional pattern unit on the basis of simple geometric bodies.
©
Creating a quasi-object Table was used similar to a formal reception, the only difference is that the approach to the overall geometry and the combination of the elementary bodies of its components has become more artistic.
© This table has its own facade and interior space.
© Designed with the only one basic geometrical body, the Table has all the variety of functions that are most typical for its archetype..
