The initial inspiration came from the patchwork found at tailors which was made in 1895 by one of the employee of Henry Poole & Co. Then I moved on to take a look at optical art works (such as Vasarely, Bridget Riley, and Escher), polygon, and 3D wire-frame.©
This project was all about translating the ideas and images that I had in my head into 3D materials.
Essentially in this collection, I took some elements of structural engineering and geometric designs, and I moulded around living forms using traditional handcraft techniques of bespoke tailoring; a marriage of seeming incompatibles that I loosely term “bio-geometric tailoring”.©
It will evolve into a combination of sartorial obsession and innovative design. Extreme and intricate patchworks are the key to my collection and I worked into my vision of modern tailoring. I twisted the norms of British tailoring and used patchwork in unexpected ways.©
