At the moment of our intervention, the site had an existing structure: the C building of the Master Plan. This structure was built with its large facades oriented to the west and to the east, making it difficult to use as a software development center because of the uncontrolled light and solar heat gain.© LEAP+MTQ & TAL
Another problem of the original structure was the lack of emergency exits. To solve both problems was the aim of the proposal.© LEAP+MTQ & TAL
The project consists of two architectonic elements installed into the east and west facades, light metallic structures are attached to the existing concrete columns and perforated metal panels protect the existing windows from the sun.© LEAP+MTQ & TAL
The space in-between is used as a balcony for circulation with emergency exits at each end. It can also be used as a relaxing space, close to the working areas.© LEAP+MTQ & TAL
The design of the protective skin follows a pattern of triangular panels of perforated metal, this panels opens gradually in order to allow controlled views to the volcano and surrounding natural landscapes..© LEAP+MTQ & TAL
